Privacy Policy
1. Data Controller
The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:
Gilian IT-Dienst S.R.L., Sf. Ap. Petru 182, 707038 Pietraria, Romania
Email: info@cruisint.com
2. Overview of Processing
We process personal data only when necessary to operate Cruisint, create user accounts, store card ratings, operate the community Blog, respond to inquiries, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell personal data. Processing is based on Art. 6(1) GDPR — primarily legitimate interest, contract preparation, or consent where applicable.
3. Hosting & Server Logs
When you visit the site, the server may automatically collect technical data such as IP address, browser type, operating system, referrer URL, date/time of access, and requested files. This data is processed to ensure security, stability, and proper delivery of the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
4. User Accounts & Ratings
If you register, we process your name, email address, and password hash to provide the account. Registration is free and stays free. Registered users may rate port highlight cards (1–5 stars) and publish Blog threads. Visitors can see average card scores. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
4a. Community Blog
If you use the Blog, we store thread titles, text, optional photos, likes, thumbs-down votes, and moderation actions, including a ban reason and time if an administrator bans your account for breaking the rules. Images are checked before storage. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
5. Paid Subscriptions & Email Recommendations
Optional paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Cruisint never collects or stores card numbers. If you subscribe to email recommendations, weekly personalised recommendations are sent only to the email address you provided at registration, and only while that subscription is active. If you subscribe as a local business, we store the business details you submit (name, type, port, phone, opening hours, website, description, and image) to display your promotion. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
6. Local Storage
We may store a language preference, sign-in token, and cookie-consent choice in your browser so the site can remember your session. You can delete this data at any time via your browser settings or the footer Settings control.
7. Cookies
Cruisint uses essential storage for sign-in and language. Optional storage is used only if you choose Accept All in Settings. Paid checkout is hosted by Stripe, which may set its own cookies on Stripe's domain. See the Cookie Policy for details.
8. Your Rights under GDPR
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR). You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in the EU.
9. Retention Period
Personal data is stored only as long as necessary for the purposes described or as required by statutory retention periods.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy to reflect legal or technical changes. The current version is always available on this page.
